Lanzerac has happily received its second award since reopening in 2018 as South Africa’s Leading Wine Region Hotel by the World Travel Awards: Africa & Indian Ocean. This is the regions’ most prestigious travel and tourism event of the year.
The award represents the leaders in travel, tourism and hospitality within Africa and the Indian Ocean in 2020, with Lanzerac competing against top finalists from South Africa’s Winelands regions.
The Estate was also recently awarded the titles of Best Accommodation in the 2021 Great Wine Capitals Best of Wine Tourism Awards, the Best Private Luxury Hotel & Winery 2020 – South Africa by the African Excellence Awards and the Hotel & Spa of the Year – Cape Winelands by the 2020 Resorts & Retreats Awards, rounding off a tough year for the tourism and hospitality industry on a positive note.
Adding to the Lanzerac awards mantle, its wines have also been recognised globally, receiving awards such as the Rosé of the Year 2020 by The Merit Wine and Spirit Challenge, and the Best Merlot for 2020 by the 15th annual Novare SA Terroir Wine Awards. Lanzerac Wines also took home three medals of excellence in the Tim Atkins Wine Report and two silvers at the 2020 Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show.
